We are delighted to have Izzy Cooper teaching our pupils to sing!
About Izzy:
Whilst still a student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Izzy was signed by Decca Records to make her debut album ‘Libera Me’ recorded with The London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. She pioneered the classics in a fresh and innovative way working with producer Craig Leon who has also worked with Pavarotti, Sting, Andreas Scholl and many others. Izzy then signed to Virgin’s Venture label to record ‘Ascolta’ & ‘New Dawn’. All three albums reached No.1 in the Classical Charts worldwide and she became an International Singing and Recording Artist. As a result of Izzy’s overall success, she was nominated ‘Best Female Artist’ in the Classical Brit Awards with her music being embraced as a new force in the ‘healing music’ market for it’s spiritual and relaxing qualities.
Her video of ‘My love is like a Red Red Rose’ remains one of the most played on UK Classic FM TV / Radio to this day.
In contrast to Izzy’s classical albums, a musical album was launched in 2007 entitled ‘Izzy Sings Musicals’ and due to high demand in 2010 Izzy released a classical guitar / vocal album entitled ‘Cancion’.
Izzy continues to work closely with producer Craig Leon recording & filming, including a recent guest appearance in ‘Quest Beyond the Stars’filmed by PBS & in association with NASA.
Finally, with a special love of teaching for now nearly twenty years, Izzy continues to teach and feels passionately about sharing what she has learned through her experience to others, especially the younger generation.
